Lack of single leadership, confidence in Islam: Muslim issues

Lack of single leadership, confidence in Islam: Muslim issues
Chairman of the Islamic Human Rights Commission attended the first meeting of international conference on operating diplomacy of unity counting lack of single leadership and self- confidence as the most important issues of Muslims in the present era.

Massoud Shajareh, Chairman of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) on the sideline of the first meeting of international religious figures, elites,
businessmen, scholars and athletes on “The Role of Proximity World Unions of Muslim Elites in Practicing Diplomacy of Unity” and related his views on the most important issues of the Muslim world in present era.

According to the elite if any Muslim is asked on the current climate where there is so much attack, Islamophobia, hatred against Muslims and Islam itself which has resolved in death and destruction he would refer to Myanmar, Kashmir, Palestine, Iraq, Syria and Bahrain as well as Yemen what as the most critical spots in the world of Islam.

In his view a combination of some elements should be counted as the issue for Muslim when he said,” I think ordinary Muslims would say the lack of unity as the key issue for all Muslims but in my view when you scratch the surface a little bit more, when we do not have/ accept a single leadership,
a single direction and that we are not in a position to understand the plots of enemies and as a result we cannot emplace a mechanism to defeat the enemies.”

Iranian scholar noted,” The other fact is that unfortunately we Muslims have lost our confidence in ourselves and in our religion to withstand all the challenges we are facing now” adding,” It is a plot of the enemy to shake our confidence in ourselves and in our religion; so, that is why from one side they are using Islamophobia and hatred as a stake against the community and on the other side they are encouraging American and British-style Islam vowing the position of London, MP or even a senator so they are in fact undermining the fabric of our belief.”

According to Massoud Shajareh as much as it is important to set up the structures of support to deal with different issues, it is also important to do practical work and come
up with projects that are needed for the global community to survive these attacks against Muslims and strengthen future generations because Muslim youths are not being supported to have Islamic politics economics resistance imbedded in them.

He concluded with highlighting necessity of practical measures to be taken and said,”I think we need to concentrate more on practical elements since what is going on for instance in Yemen, Myanmar and Nigeria is the lack of infrastructure in bringing legal challenges. We have done this legal challenge with International courts regarding Nigeria and the matter is now being investigated but we actually need to start looking what mechanism we have in place to look after our community when they are facing this extreme sort of oppression and I think at the moment we do not have those mechanisms fully in place.”
