Tehran ECO office exhibits Iran art

An exhibition of Iranian arts and handicrafts has kicked off during a ceremony held at the Cultural Institute of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tehran.

The opening gala was attended by Head of Cultural Institute of the ECO, Eftekhar Hossein Aref, head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) Masoud Soltanifar and a number of foreign diplomats.

A collection of exquisite Iranian handicrafts has been presented at the at the art show.

The exhibition kicked off today, April 22, and will run until April 29.

ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey for the purpose of promoting economic, technical and cultural cooperation among the member states.

In 1992, the ECO expanded its membership to include Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
