“Sydney incident is an enemies conspiracy to defame Shi’ahs”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani criticized some Iranian media outlets, especially radio and television news, in regard to their insufficient coverage of news from the Islamic Seminaries and the issue of Mahdawiyah. “We are facing [threats from] Saudi Arabia, Wahhabism and Takfirism. They are all puppets of the United States and are united to crush Shi’ism,” he emphasized.

He added that the enemies seek to spread various doubts and misunderstandings about Shi’ite theology and we must defend ourselves clearly and intelligently: “If the television channels and radio stations are not willing, the thoughts and ideas of Mahdawiyah cannot be explained to the world... We have a lot of work to spread the message of Mahdawiyah to the world,” reported Rasa News.

The revered scholar stated that the enemies are striving with all of their power to crush the doctrines of Shi’ism in various fields, especially Mahdawiyah. He stated that the words of ibn Taymiyyah are disseminated throughout the world, while ibn Taymiyyah was a renowned nasibi (a hater of the Ahlul-Bayt) and someone who stood against all Shi’ite beliefs.

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained that Saudi Arabia is using their petrodollars to spread misinformation about Shi’ism. Due to the threat of possible attacks in Egypt, mourning for Imam Husayn must be done at home and not in public. Propaganda against the Shi’ah is growing stronger day by day in the world due to Saudi money and the role of the arrogant countries.

The revered source of emulation stated that pictures and videos of Shi’ite mourners performing acts of self-flagellation during Muharram have been beamed around the world and the enemies use these images to show others that Shi’ites are superstitious and fanatical.

Also in his speech, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani reacted to the tragic events in Sydney, Australia and stated that the enemies plan to defame the Shi’ite clergy and the Shi’ite school of thought. “The enemies in Sydney showed the perpetrator as a [Shi’ite] clergyman by broadcasting pictures of him wearing clerical robes and also introduced him as a [former] Shi’ite cleric. They also stress that [“Man Haron Monis”] was Iranian. By this, they seek to denigrate the name of Iran,” he explained.
