Prominent Lebanese cleric stressed confrontation with extremism and Takfir as religious mandate highlighting Islamic unity to solve issues of Muslim world.

Sheikh Ahmad Mota’ab al Qattan, member of the society of Lebanes clerics on the sideline of his visit to Iran’s Golestan Province, met with Hujjat-ul-Islam Mostafa Maleki, manager of Golestan Province seminary vowing Lebanon’s efforts for boosting Islamic unity and confrontation with extremism and Takfir (excommunication), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Lebanese scholar in this meeting referred to the various tribes in Lebanon and the critical situation of the region saying,” We are in need of practical unity between Shia and Sunni communities in order to solve the issues of Muslim world so that Muslims from different denominations can solve their problems through dialogue and meetings.”
 
He expressed hope that all people become messengers of Islam calling others to the holy religion and not to a certain denomination be it Shia or Sunni Islam.
 
Sheikh Maher Abdullah Abdul Razzaq, head of Lebanon’s Reform and Unity Movement also quoted Qur’anic verse on necessity of Islamic unity and referred to the endeavors of Lebanese people for solidarity among Muslims.
 
He concluded that the main path to confront Israel is resistance and whatever related to Takfir (excommunication) is related to the US and world arrogant powers.
