'Releasing Al-Aqsa Mosque is a religious obligation' :Ayatollah Araki

General Secretary of The World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought beckoned to the influential role of Al-Quds day in reviving the issue of Palestine.

 

General Secretary of The World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought,  Ayatollah Mohsen Araki on the threshold of Al-Quds day rally in an exclusive interview with  Taqrib News Agency (TNA) placed stress on the influential role of Al-Quds day rally in reviving the issue of Palestine, noting, “Al-Qods day has effective role in mobilizing Islamic societies in supporting the issue of Palestine against the regime of Zionism.
 
President of Iran Top Unity Center went to underscored that releasing Al-Aqsa Mosque is a religious obligation upon all Muslims from all walks of life, holding the Mosque as an identity of the Islamic society.
 
“The issue of Palestine is one of the main issues that these days can promote unity and rapprochement among Muslims,” pointed out the grand Ayatollah, adding occupying Palestine and insulting
Muslims along with Al-Aqsa mosque is Muslims’ common setback and pain.
 
“Al-Qods day rally can draw attention to the main setback Islamic society besets by,” said the grand Ayatollah noting the day awares Muslims to their common problem which should be brave.
 
Elsewhere in his remarks, General Secretary of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought stressed, “the problem of dispersion in World of Islam is advanced by some Takfiri moves and the expansion of Terrorism; given that Al-Quds day rally can draw attentions to this main predicament.”
 
According to Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, “Al-Quds day rally with its influential role can aware Muslims to their main enemies, i.e. the regime of Zionism and its allied in the region.”
 
In August 1979, the late founder of the Islamic Republic Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini declared the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as the International Quds Day, and called on Muslims across the world to mark the
annual occasion by holding street rallies.
 
Since then, millions of Iranians from all walks of life take to the streets nationwide on last Ramadan’s Friday each year in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation, voicing their anger at the policies of the Israeli regime and its allies and calling for the liberation of Palestine.
The Iranian marchers carry placards and chant slogans against the United States and Israel.
 
Millions of people around the world take to the streets on this day in a show of support for the people of Palestine, demanding an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands. Palestinians are seeking to create an independent state on the territories of the West Bank, East al-Quds (Jerusalem), and the Gaza Strip, and are demanding that Israel withdraw from the Palestinian territories occupied in the 1967 Six-Day War.
 
In this regard, Ayatollah Araki voiced hope that this year Al-Qods Day Rally will be held more glorious than its previous ones, urging Muslims to grab this golden chance for safeguarding and promoting unity.
