OIC congratulates Muslims on Fitr Eid 2017
Secretary General of the OIC, Dr. Yousef  Al-Othaimeen, congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid El-Fitr 1438H. He prayed to the almighty Allah to reward all Muslims for their fasting and other acts of worship, and to grant them prosperity, security, stability and tranquility.

The Secretary General expressed his hope and aspiration that Muslims would adhere to the tolerant teachings and values of Islam that urges us to coexist in peace and safety, eschew violence and extremism in all their manifestation and prohibits us from hatred and supporting terrorism which traumatize innocent people.

Al-Othaimeen underscored that the joyous Eid occasion is an opportunity to free the mind of differences and conflicts and to stop violence and fighting which have affected many parts of the Muslim world. He reminded that this occasion calls on us to remember the less privileged Muslims who are lacking in shelter and food and to stand with them in their plights.

Eid al Fitr is the feast celebrated at the end of Ramadan, ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar.

After a month of fasting and prayer Muslims celebrate the occasion with prayers, sharing lunch and meeting each other.
