Fruitless Yemen talks

First, political form and interim government should be clarified and parliamentary and presidential elections should be performed, constitution should be written and then an inclusive government should accept the responsibility of the cities and garrisons.
Fruitless Yemen talks
Several weeks into Yemen peace talks, the negotiating sides have not reached a certain achievement and this is while the truce is violated by Saudi fighters every day. Following a pause in peace talks, Emir of Kuwait has demanded both sides for another presence in the meeting and continue the negotiation hosted by his country.

Reza Mirabian, political expert on the Middle East issues, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) has detailed on Yemen peace talks held in Kuwait.

When asked on influences of the talks on the battle ground in Yemen, Iranian expert rejected any positive and practical result for the talks calling greed as a reason for failure of the negotiation, a greed which pushes the opposite side to demand for military privileges without accepting to grant any political privileges.

The basis for talks is United Nations resolution in political and military-security parts. The opposite side, however, is demanding for implementation of the military-security part of the resolution, meaning that Ansar Allah should evacuate cities and garrisons and submits weaponries. Now the question on who should receive the weapons remains unanswered. For the opposite side this is a priority before talks for formation of a government.

Ansar Allah believes that there will be no guarantee for political negotiations if it submits the lands and weaponries; hence, political formation and the interim government, parliamentary and presidential elections should be carried out, constitution should be written and then an inclusive government should accept the responsibility of the garrisons and cities. The opposite side and Saudi Arabia show no tendency for them at all while the latter does not seem to be serious in negotiations at all.

Iranian political expert was also asked on views maintained by world super powers and regional countries to which he referred to the support of the Persian Gulf countries and United Arab Emirates for Saudi Arabia while the west is also tactically backing the Arab kingdom. This is while Saudi Arabia has been successful neither in Yemeni soil nor in the battle field.

On the future perspective of the talks, he rejected likelihood of any immediate solution because the opposite side is demanding submission of Ansar Allah while it is seriously refraining to give up. If the opposite side includes Ansar Allah in the political future of Yemen, then there will be hopes for near resolutions to the talks.
