General Secretory of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki called on Muslims to waiting for Imam Mahdi’s return and doing such duty is result of believing in God, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Speaking among Worshipers in holy city of Mashhad, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki called on Muslims to do their religious duties during the Major occultation (Ghaybat al-Kubra) began in 329 and is believed to continue for as long as God wills it.

It is worthwhile to note that Imam Mahdi, known as the savior, was born almost 1,300 years ago on the fifteenth of Sha'ban, the eighth month of the lunar calendar. In Shia eschatology Imam Mahdi is the prophesied redeemer, who will bring peace and justice to the world.

Shias believe that Imam Mahdi is living among men and will return in a company of his chosen ones to bring full justice and rid the world of wrongdoing, injustice, and tyranny.

In a Hadith, widely accepted by Muslims as authentic, Prophet Mohammad says:

"Even if the entire duration of the world's existence has already been exhausted and only one day is left before Judgment Day Allah will expand that day to such a length of time, as to accommodate the kingdom of a person from my Ahlul-Bayt (infallible progeny), who will be called by my name. He will then fill the earth with peace and justice as it will have been full of injustice and tyranny before then."

In this regard General Secretory of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought called on Muslims to await for their Imams and not let such an important issue be slipped into oblivion.

“One of the main duties of people during the Imam Zaman’s occultation is waiting for his return,” said the ground Ayatollah stressing abiding by such command is of by far the best religious duties.
