Text : The Palestinian Authority sMinistry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriatescalled on officials in the international community to start a comprehensive review and reformulate the definition of terrorism and its annexes. The statement, carried by Palestine s official Wafa news agency, further urged the international community not to leave the matter to Israel as an occupying and apartheid entity to formulate this definition. On Saturday, Israeli forced shot dead Muhammad Shawkat Abu Saleemeh, a 23-year-old who was formerly detained in Israeli prisons. The young Palestinian, originally from the city of Salfit in the central West Bank, was shot point-blank at least twice by Israeli forces after he was already lying on the ground as he was wounded and unable to move in the vicinity of Bab al-Amud (Damascus Gate) plaza in the occupied al-Quds city. The statement from the Palestinian foreign ministry came in response to comments by the Israel police which hailed the vigilance and rapid response of the killer police who shot Saleemeh dead, as well as remarks by Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett, who also lauded the officers for acting quickly and determinedly. The ministry added that it was preparing an official complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against the occupying entity for committing this horrible crime, expressing hope that the court would act immediately and not be subjected to blackmail by Tel Aviv and all the major powers that stand on its side. These positions constitute a green light tothe occupation soldiers to continue committing more crimes against Palestinian citizens, the ministry further saidas it denounced Israeli officials and blamed them for this extrajudicial crime, and for other crimes committed against Palestinians. It also noted that the international community s fear of criticizing Israel, as an occupying power, reflects a major imbalance in the relationship between the international community and the Tel Aviv regime. The ministry also urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities regarding Israel and not give in to the fait accompli imposed by the occupying regime. In the aftermath of the deadly incident, local sources reported that Israeli police prevented medical staff from providing medical care for the 23-year-old Palestinian man, adding that at least 40 people were injured by Israeli forces at the scene. The Red Crescent also confirmed that Israeli forces prevented its crew from providing medical care for Muhammad.
