"Muslims and Christians in the major shifts"

Head of the Research Centre of the Board of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Sheikh Ahmed Mobalighi assured that there are three challenges facing Muslims and Christians today: the neglect of the participants, and the second is to consider participants low-effective and few positive and the third is considering these participants important and but face obstacles.

Mobaligh word cam during the first meeting of the International Conference of "Muslims and Christians in the major shifts," which continued its work Tuesday at the Coral Beach Hotel in Beirut, which was entitled by "The concerns of minorities: reality or illusion." 

His Eminence Sheikh Mobalighi considered that the first challenge is not based on a mental approach, beacause the rational focuses on participants; His Eminence felt sorry for the popularity of this simplistic vision that carry participants," ponting out that "our Quran focuses on the idea of God as the infrastructure of all human beings."

He stressed that Muslims and Christians share the orientation from inside the soul to God as they are engaged in prayer, calling for a special link focusing on "bringing together Muslims and Christians" and that return to God is what unite everyone.

The first session of the conference was chaired by Archbishop Boulos Matar, who kept stoped on the word «minority» in the title of the session, explaining that "the rights and duties are not built in the communities, not on numbers or on the concept of minorities and majorities, but it is based on equal citizenship and national and human belonging.

Archbishop Matar pointed out that "the Qur'an does not mention the word minorities, but it note the people of the book by every affection and honor."
On an other side Bishop Matar addressed the revolution of Egypt by saying: "If the revolution are to protect the rights of all without exception, everyone should also contribute to protect revolutions of the fragmentation and loss." Directed his words to what is happening in Egypt today after a popular revolution.

He also asked the Muslims to come back to the parent and to the springs of Islam, to the time of the Holy Prophet Mohammed, who gave Christians thes best treatment.

Then the former General Coordinator of Kifaya Movement (Egypt), Mr. George Isaac  reviewed what was going on in the Mubarak era of using the stream of political Islam and the practices of some of its members or its irresponsible factions as a scare against the Copts to appear to them that the Mubarak regime is their protector, resulting to the increasing withdrawal of the Copts from the public sphere behind the walls of the church.

He noted that "the revolution of 25 January revealed that young Copts were able next to the rest of their fellow Egyptian Muslims and non-Muslims to build a cross-religions Sideline and succeeded during the revolution to convert this field into a realistic and real one. 

He added that Copts become part of the all and not just a civil religious minority."
 
In turn Sheikh Maher Hammoud said in his a speech that the essence of Islam is the co-existence with people of the book and that Islam protects everyone, whether by the Qur'anic text or the Sunnah or the entire history of Islam, calling on Christians to contribute to the Islamization of society in the right direction, as he called for reconsideration of the intimidation word of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Then the Secretary General of the National Committee for "Islamic - Christian" Dialogue, HE Prince Harith Shihab, considered that a year after the uprisings, it is not required to protect the Christians, but the equality among all the people under the state of  law is required. 

The Prince Shihab added that: "The Christians are now living a case of anxiety as they watched what they consider as a distortion of the image of Islam, pointing to the so-called label of "minorities" which carries unacceptable discrimination among religions and specifically in Islam."The second session of the conference started by the Head of Hizbullah Juristic Council His Eminence Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek, who stressed that the view towards the occurrences in the region should not be pessimistic.

"We should rely on our responsibilities and present the resolution for a promising future for the citizen in the region, through examining the reasons that led to the explosion, chaos and misleading", His Eminence stated. 

Moreover, Sheikh Yazbek added, "It is in fact the chaos spread by [George W.] Bush, to seize the region [...] so that there would be no guarantee, immunity or value, but blind dependency controlled by an international Zionism and Freemasonry, which defines freedom, democracy, good and evil, in a way that serves their own project".
"The axis of change should revolve around the Palestinian cause", Head of Hizbullah Juristic Council emphasized.

Also, Sheikh Yazbek concluded that "the reason that caused dictatorship, corruption and opportunism is the lack of relation to the spirit, values and faith, and via the oriented media which distorted the image of faith, only providing the materialistic maters".

"The treatment here lies in returning to our spiritual values and faith in God, human, and earth via all faith factors presented by messengers, prophets and preachers who translated them through behaviors, life, consistency, security and safety", Sheikh Yazbek further noted. 

From hi side, the imam of Al-Nour mosque (Abbasiya - Egypt) preacher Sheikh Ahmed Sayyed Turki saw that Islam ensure the rights of "people of the book", pointing out that some Muslim scholars considered that Muslims and Christians if they live on one ground, they will be one understanding nation.

His Eminence also criticized some "fatwas" of Muslim clerics and Christian that form obstacles against the dialogue between the parties.

For his part, the president of the religions institution, father Dr. Fadi light expressed his belief that the emergence of Salafist, raises the question on the table of Christian-Muslim dialogue, asking if the religious authority are the source for characterization and identification of public life, which in turn raises another question now, about the fate of other groups that have a different reading? 
He stressed that we can not stand against the former dictatorships, and at the same time reject the emerging democracies.

The session was concluded with a lecture by theDirector of the Institute of wisdom Knowledge of religious studies and philosophical Sheikh Shafiq Grady, who stressed that God  is above everyone and with everyone and by everyone, but it remains for us to ask how to distinguish between a religious group and another, adding that the record is in presence of God.

The third meeting "the role of religions and religious culture in the consolidation of civil peace and the prevention of religious strife," was headed by His Excellency Ambassador of Iran Dr. Ghazanfar Roknabadi, and lectured in it each of the following: Ms. Vivian Fouad, Bishop Jean Cuckoo, Dr. Munir Saad Eddin, and the adviser to the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran Dr. Mohammad Ali Azar shab and father Dr. George Massouh.
