Lebanon is against Syria
Commenting on the Arab League's decision to freeze Syrian membership to the Arab League Council, Minister Mansour, told newsmen that the decision was faulty and that negative consequences could be entailed. He added that such negative consequences of the decision might reflect badly on Arab-Arab cooperation.

The minister went as far as saying this might have a negative impact on regional peace-making and stability as well.

Mansour argued that Arab nations were in fact working against their own interests by freezing Syrian membership in the Arab League Council.

The minister concluded that the Arab decision would complicate matters further in the Arab World and would never yield much aspired for security or stability.

In a related context in Lebanon, Demonstrators gathered Sunday in front of the Syrian embassy in Beirut denouncing Arab League decision to suspend Syria.

"The Arab League is dead," read one of the banners.

Syria From its turn countered the Arab League's freezing of its membership on its board by calling for an immediate Arab summit to deal with the ongoing crisis and explore venues for defusing it. The Syrian government call came in SANA which criticized recent Arab League freeze.

Speaking under anonymity, a senior government official in Damascus said the government is still keen to meet with an Arab investigation commission. He also challenged Arab League Secretary Ahmad El-Aarabi to implement decisions recently taken over the Syrian crisis.

He however, insisted that the League representatives meet with government officials to discuss what he termed flows of the Arab initiative. He criticized the initiative on grounds of lacking appropriate mechanisms already decided by the League itself.

Spokesperson to the embassy assured the crowd that Syria was doing great and all conspiracies to topple Assad's regime were destined to fail drastically.
