Iraq still needs Iran's gas

Iraq's oil minister announced an agreement with Iran's oil ministry to continue exporting gas to Iraq to equip the country's power plants in the next summer.

He noted that the government still wants to import gas and electricity from Iran, underlining that Iraq still needs to import gas from Iran.

The Iraqi oil minister highlighted that efforts are being made to develop gas fields in addition to developing power plants to increase production capacity.
He announced the invitation to Iran's oil minister to visit Iraq with the aim of continuing talks between Baghdad and Tehran regarding energy issues.
Iraq needs 50 to 70 million cubic meters of gas daily for its power plants in summer and winter.
