Egypt says translation of 20 sections of Qur’an completed

Egyptian Minister of Endowments has announced Hebrew translation of 20 Juz (section) of holy Qur’an has been completed.

Mohammad Mukhtar Juma in his remarks at the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee at Egyptian Parliament held to discuss the role of Ministry of Endowments in expansion of moderate thinking in the international level said the translation of Qur’an into Hebew language was to prevent distortion in the holy book of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” Translation of Qur’an aims to prevent deviations and numerous mistakes made by Jewish orientalists in their translation of the holy book which have led to distortion of the meaning of Qur’an.”
 
According to the Egyptian authority the Ministry of Endowments found it necessary to begin translation of holy Qur’an into Hebrew language in a bid to correct the mistakes.
 
Mohammad Mukhtar Juma also referred to necessity of respect for other religions and religious centers in Egypt and that the government has reconstructed an abandoned Jewish synagogue and a church at its own expenses.
