Following meetings with foreign ministers and officials participating in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Iran's Foreign Minister met with the Ugandan counterpart Jeje Odongo on Saturday evening and discussed the expansion of economic and trade relations.

He announced the readiness of Iran's private sector to implement technical and engineering projects and the presence of more Iranian businessmen, including knowledge-based companies, in this country.
While welcoming the Iranian administration's attention to the expansion of trade and economic ties with African countries, the Ugandan foreign minister announced the increase in the exchange of economic and trade delegations with Iran in the past year and underlined that this is a good opportunity to cement the relations between the two sides.
Jeje Odongo added that cooperation in international forums, mutual support for the candidates of the two countries in specialized institutions and agencies, and exchange of views on using clean energy were among the most important topics of the talks between the foreign ministers of Iran and Uganda.
