Iranian President extends condolences for loss of a number of Afghans in earthquake
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran added in this message: "The news of the earthquake in eastern Afghanistan and the death of a number of Muslim people of Afghanistan was heartbreaking and sad. I offer my condolences to the people of Afghanistan for this tragic incident and ask for God's mercy, and forgiveness for the victims."
"I am very sorry that for years the US occupation has hindered the development of Afghanistan's urban and rural infrastructure, and this has made it difficult today to provide relief to the victims of the earthquake," Raisi said, stressing, "I have given a mission to the Red Crescent Society to be as active as possible in the process of helping the earthquake victims."
A magnitude 6.0 earthquake shook the city of Khost in southeastern Afghanistan yesterday morning. According to statistics, this incident has had 2,500 casualties so far.
