33rd Tehran International Book Fair opens after two years of COVID closure

33rd Tehran International Book Fair has kicked off after two years of closure and restrictions due to COVID-19 circumstances in the Grand Mosalla of Tehran on Tuesday.

In a ceremony attended by Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Mahdi Esmaeili, Lebanon's Interior Minister, a number of cultural figures and publishers, the 33rd Tehran International Book Fair opened, the first of its type held both in presence and online, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
"With Reading, We Fell Healthy" is the motto of the 33rd round of Tehran international book fair as 1,700 publishers showing their publications at the venue of the event in Grand Mosalla of Imam Khomeini (RA) and 1100 publishers providing their books in cyber space.
 
170 foreign publishers and 50 foreign guests from 30 countries will also attend the cultural event.
 
Yasser Ahmadvand, director of the 33rd Tehran International Book Fair the number of publishers attending the 33rd event has seen 25 percent increase in comparison with the previous years.
 
Publishers from Switzerland, India, Hong Kong, Turkey, Italy, France, China, South Korea, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Lebanon, Pakistan, Tunisia, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Russia, Mexico, UK, Australia, The Netherlands, US, Germany and Spain are among the foreign countries attending the 33rd Tehran International Book Fair.
