Non-Muslim visitors welcomed at Imam Reza shrine

Located in Iran's northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi, the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), eighth Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) has scheduled to welcome visitors and pilgrims from across the globe and boost their information on Islamic teachings.

the Office for Foreign Pilgrims’ Affairs have produced handy small pamphlets to give short and to the point answers to questions of the guests of the holy shrine besides a cleric to accompany foreigners during their visit to the holy site and answer their questions on Islam or settle their misunderstandings on Shia beliefs.

The new initiative has been taken to get Imam Reza’s non-Muslim guests more acquainted with Islam and also to give them reliable texts for use when they face new questions after the visit.

This free of charge collection of pamphlets cover a wide range of themes including resurrection, women’s head covering, prophet-hood, Imam Reza (AS), Imam Mahdi (AS), pilgrimage, etc.
The Office for Foreign Pilgrims’ Affairs is the main body in charge at Imam Reza holy shrine which gives services to the non-Muslim visitors of the complex.

Showing video clips, providing visitors with source texts, giving them opportunity to visit sacred premises and museums of the complex, offering cultural gifts, and giving tourists an opportunity to have face to face talk to Shia clerics are some services by this office provided for non-Muslim visitors of the complex.

The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad has just lifted COVID-related restrictions after two years of full, partial closure admitting pilgrims, visitors and worshipers to the holy site.
