The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad serves 40,000 Iftar meals on daily basis.

The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), eighth Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) has been carrying out its annual Iftar meals during Ramadan, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The Deputy Office for Human Resources Management of Imam Reza holy shrine has been distributing Iftar packages to the pilgrims attending communal evening prayer at the holy shrine.
 
Nearly 5,000 Iftar packages are also distributed among the people around the holy shrine as charitable figures have also joined the campaign.
 
The total number of Iftar meals served during Ramadan is estimated to reach 1.5 million as donors also join the move during Ramadan.
 
The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) traditionally serves visitors and fasting pilgrims with warm Iftar meals though the circumstances of the pandemic infection has imposed certain restrictions to the ceremony.
