A Qatari official has said the emir of the country would meet with US president Joe Biden during a visit to the United States to discuss the lifting of sanctions imposed on Iran in Vienna.

The Emir of Qatar is scheduled to travel to Washington on January 31 as the first high-ranking Arab official from the Persian Gulf.
During the visit, Tamim bin Hamad is scheduled to discuss the development of Doha-Washington relations and bilateral issues with Biden.
But in addition to Iran and the Vienna talks, the energy and gas issue is one of the most important issues about which the emir of Qatar and the US president will consult with, especially as Washington and Western countries seek alternative sources of gas for Russia.
