Cleric hails Sunnis assistance for resistance movement in Gaza

Top cleric in his pre-sermon speech at the Friday prayer at Jame Mosque of Sanandaj hailed the contributions of Sunni fighters who fight for the resistance movement against Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said," We should demonstrate the unity of Shia and Sunni in fight against the US-led world colonial powers during four decades since the Islamic Revolution."

The Shia scholar addressed the Kurdish community calling them as "honor and pride" of the Islamic Republic of Iran and appreciated four decades of cooperation and brevity of the Kurds.

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought added," On behalf of the Supreme Leader and other authorities of the Islamic Republic, we appreciate you for your resistance and defense for the country during eight years of Iraq war."

He also hailed the contributions of the people in Kurdistan over endeavors to protect Islamic unity, proximity of Islamic denominations and coexistence in their region.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari warned of efforts to discourage the Iranian nation and bring gap within the Islamic denominations saying," Enemies intend to create ethnical, sectarian and tribal war in order to disintegrate the Islamic nation, as they did to other countries during the World War II."

He noted," This is the nature of the arrogant powers to divide the nations and loot their assets."

Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari highlighted the contributions of forces and Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani for foiling plots in Syria and beating the enemies.

He noted that the objective behind destruction of Syria by western countries was to prevent aids deployed for Lebanon and guaranteeing security of infanticide Israeli regime.

"Due to the efforts to the Kurdish people to protect the borders since the Iraq war to present, we have sent the message of our revolution to other Islamic countries" said the cleric and added that as the reason for concern of the arrogant powers, particularly the United States.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari concluded," If the arrogant powers struggled to threat the Islamic Revolution in Kurdistan, today the resistance movement, assisted by the Sunnis, is tightening the noose for Israeli regime in Gaza."

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought delivered the pre-sermon speech at Friday prayer in Sanandaj in part of his visit to the Sunni-inhibited province in western Iran.

The cleric also met with a number of Sunni scholars, Friday prayer leaders and clerics across Kurdistan province.
