Cleric hails materialization of Shia-Sunni unity in Kurdistan province

Representative of the Supreme Leader in Kurdistan province hailed the fraternity between Shias and Sunnis in Kurdistan saying true unity has materialized in the Iranian western province.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Abdulreza Pourzahabi, in his remarks at the meeting of the cultural council in Kurdistan province said the Shia and Sunni clerics in the western province are 4,000 the majority of them are Sunni though there has been no problem between the Islamic denominations in Kurdistan, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He referred to over 2,500 Sunni mosques and nealy 500 Shia mosques in Kurdistan province stressing,” Although 81 per cent of the population in Kurdistan province are Sunnis, there are no issues between the people in Kurdistan."
 
Representative of Supreme Leader hailed the loyalty of Sunni community for Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and highlighted the convergence of the different Islamic denominations in Kurdistan province.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Abdulreza Pourzahabi expressed hope that the new government will inject a new life across the country leading to further development of all provinces.
 
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahrairi was also a visiting guest to the cultural meeting in Kurdistan province.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari attended the meeting in part of his three-day trip to the Sunni-dominated province of Kurdistan.
