Iran's cultural attaché in Lahore hailed calligraphy as the most popular Islamic art for all Muslims and also best means to inscribe the holy Qur'an.

Attending the ceremony held to mark the International Day of Islamic Art in Alhamra Arts Center in Lahore on Thursday, Jafar Ronas, Iran's cultural attaché in Lahore, in his opening speech called the arts as the common language of world people, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He called the arts as the language which is understood by people from any nationality speaking any language.
 
The Exhibition held to mark the International Day of Islamic Arts is underway in Alhamra Arts Center for five days and works of calligraphy, painting, Islamic architecture, pottery, tilework and enamels are shown to the public.

 
Iranian cultural attaché, Jafar Ronas also referred to importance of past and present artistic activities and also the role of culture in the Islamic civilization.
 
He hailed calligraphy as the most prominent art for all Muslims and the best means to inscribe Qur'an verses as is seen in the cornice and mosque domes.
 
The ceremony to mark the International Day of Islamic Art in Lahore was jointly held by the Islamic Republic of Iran, Turkey and Pakistan.
