"Islamic unity, resistance interwoven into each other", Lebanese cleric

Chairman of the Assembly of Lebanese Muslim Scholars and Chairman of the Islamic Action Front stressed Islamic unity and resistance as two important issues interwoven into each other stressing that they would be vain without each other.

Chairman of the Assembly of Lebanese Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Ghazi Hanina, delivering speech at the closing ceremony of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran stressed necessity of protecting solidarity among Muslims and hailing the late founder of Islamic Revolution for proposing the unity front and deepening its roots among Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He noted," One of the most important necessities for which we should seriously endeavor is liberation of Palestine; hence, Islamic unity and resistance are two intertwined issues either of which is meaningless without the other one."
 
Haninah noted," We might have much disputes with the Jews though in the fight to regain the Palestinian lands we are not battling the Jews but with Zionists."
 
Leader of Lebanon's Islamic Action front said whoever living in the Palestinian lands in the past century, be it Muslim, Jew or Christian, is in fact a Palestinian and stressed," Despite that, Zionists have no place in the Palestinian lands and should remove the region."
 
"We do not summon anyone to murder and bloodshed but we demand return of the Palestinian people to their ancestral lands" said Haninah and reiterated that the Zionists should pull out of the Palestinian lands and return to where they have come from.
 
Lebanese Sunni scholar expressed his views at the closing ceremony of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference held on Sunday.
 
World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has scheduled the 35th edition of the Islamic Unity Conference for October 19-24 ending with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) also known as the Islamic Unity Week.
 
Over 500 Muslim scholars, intellectuals and religious figures are attending the 35th edition of Islamic Unity Conference which is held virtually due to COVID-19 circumstances. World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has decided to hold the 35th event on the theme of "Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the World of Islam.
