Ayatollah Seyyed Mahmoud Mar’ashi, son of the prominent cleric and founder of the library, admitted a number of participants to the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference currently underway in the capital Tehran on Thursday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The cleric guided the participants to the different parts of the library with over 65 per cent of the manuscript books.

The guests also visited “Book Care” where specialty groups repair older manuscripts for conservation.

The third largest library in Iran after the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi and the Library of Parliament, Ayatollah Mar’ashi Najafi Library stands world’s third largest Islamic library with over 250,000 books among them 25,000 are online versions. It remains an attraction for Muslim scholars and seminary students and professors visiting the holy city of Qom.
