Huj. Shahriari defines conceptual model for united Muslim ummah

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought related on the characteristics for the united Muslim ummah on the third day of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference underway in the capital Tehran.
Huj. Shahriari defines conceptual model for united Muslim ummah
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the major Islamic unity center in Iran defined the four characteristics for conceptual model of the united Muslim ummah and necessities to form basic solidarity among Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said the reason for naming this conference “Islamic Unity; Peace and Avoidance of Division and Discord in the Muslim World” is discussing the conceptual model which forms the basis for unity among Muslim states.

He referred to the two schemes: the conceptual model of the “united Muslim Ummah” and the conceptual model which revolves around the unity of Muslim countries.

The cleric enumerated the four categories of concepts under which the united Muslim  ummah is defined the first of which is chosen for the title of this conference.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari referred to “necessary cooperation among countries in the Muslim world” for the second concept which stems from the Sirah (lifestyle) of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Senior scholar also counted the four characteristics for harsh treatment of the “hostile infidels” and named identifying the enemies
of Islam for the first of them.

“Identification of the enemies is indeed of tremendous importance” said the cleric and added, ”We call those enemies “global arrogance,” headed by the USA and the usurper Zionist regime.”

According to the Shia cleric the necessity of adopting clear stances against global arrogance is the second characteristic stressing that Muslims should draw red lines in dealing with enemies.

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought denounced any ambiguity with regard to whether an Islamic state’s cooperation with global arrogant powers as some countries have joined the so-called normalization deals with the Israeli regime.

He urged the Muslim countries to remove ambiguity in their relations with enemies of Islam quoting from the holy Qur’an “Do not take my enemy and your enemy as your friend.”

Iranian religious figure noted promoting a spirit of countering global arrogance among the elites, state officials and the public as the third characteristic.

“Responding to the enemies’ soft war using modern and safe technologies” said Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari” is the fourth characteristic because countering the enemy may not be limited to confrontations in traditional warfare using artillery, tanks, missiles or even economic blockades which are all instruments of classical military warfare.”

The Islamic Republic of Iran is able, and will be more able in the future, to provide these instruments so that we can engage in soft war against the enemy by relying on modern methods. This shall be possible by establishing social channels and networks on the internet and launching satellite channels
and having an active media presence.

He reiterated necessity of building friendship and affection among Muslims quoting the verse from holy Qur’an: Muslims are “harsh on the infidels” and “compassionate amongst themselves.”

Senior scholar said cooperation for eliminating division, strife or hostility as well as cooperation for elimination of Takfir (excommuniation) for the first step in strengthening and establishing affection and fraternity among Muslims.

Equally he highlighted assisting the oppressed and the underprivileged as the second step in establishing and boosting friendship among Muslims.

Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought concluded that the criterion for affection and friendship among Muslims is adhering to the holy Qur’an and lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and also Ahlul Bayt (AS), the household of the prophet as axes of cooperation among Muslims.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari made the speech on the third day of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference held both in presence of a limited number of guests and in online meetings on October 19-24 concurrent with the Islamic Unity Week.

Over 500 Muslim scholars, intellectuals and religious figures are attending the 35th edition of Islamic Unity Conference which is held virtually due to COVID-19 circumstances. World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has decided to hold the 35th event on the theme of "Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the World of Islam."
