Dagestan to launch biggest interfaith center in Europe

Europe's biggest Islamic-cultural center will be launched in Dagestan to boost dialogue among religions.


Ahmad Nadir Beygov, deputy of Dagestan mufti announced the beginning of construction work on cultural center for interfaith dialogue to be named "Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)", reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said the Islamic center will include dar al-Ifta, shopping center and a park to be named after Jesus Christ (PBUH), prophet of peace and friendship.
 
He added," Although Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is the final messenger from the Almighty God, we mark the occasions related to Jesus Christ, an effort which has boosted relations among religions in this center.
 
The Islamic-cultural center under construction will show a museum of religious cultures from across the globe.
 
He added," This Islamic center will be built between Makhachkala and Kaspiyesk and will include buildings related to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and history of Islam in real size.
 
The cultural Islamic center will be the biggest mosque in Europe with enough space for 50,000 prayers and will be named after Jesus Christ (PBUH).
