The incident took place in the city of Tubas on Saturday, Turkey’s official Anadolu news agency reported.

The troops did not hesitate to unleash their bullets onto the protesters, whom they also tried to force away using rubber-coated rounds and teargas canisters.

Accompanying the forces were Israeli settlers, who have been increasingly targeting Palestinians in violent attacks.

Three Palestinians were wounded in the face-off that came after various Palestinian groups put out a call for the city’s residents to rise in protest against the regime’s construction activities.

The Israeli violence came hot on the heels of the troops’ confronting similar demonstrations throughout the West Bank over Thursday and Friday. A number of Palestinians were arrested during the crackdown.

The Israeli regime occupied the West Bank, including East al-Quds that the Palestinians want as the capital of their future state, during a Western-backed and -equipped war in 1967.

Ever since, it has dotted the territory with hundreds of settlements. The international law considers the structures to be illegal due to their construction on occupied territory.

Currently, around 650,000 settlers reside in the settlements throughout the West Bank under heavy protection by the Israeli military. The settlers incessantly attack Palestinians in nearby areas, chanting heinous slogans against them, and warning them that they eventually have to give up their homeland.
