Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, top Iranian cleric, visited the grave of Abu Mahdi Muhandes and a number of other resistance martyrs on Thursday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The cleric, heading a delegation of religious and cultural figures from Iran, paid tribute to a number of Iraqi jurisprudents, Iraqi and Iranian resistance martyrs buried in the holy city of Najaf in part of his trip to the Arab country.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari particularly visited the grave of Abu Mahdi Muhandis, martyred commander of Hashd a-Sha’abi who was assassinated with top IRGC commander of Quds Force and their companions in a US attack on their convoy near Baghdad Airport in early January 2020.
 
Senior Iranian seminary professor also visited grave of prominent Muslim figures: Muslim ibn Aqil, cousin and companion of Imam Hussein (AS), Hani ibn Urwa, Shia figures in early days of Islam.
