Cleric stresses role of religious, cultural ties to achieve unity

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has stressed the role of talks deepening religious, cultural and political ties as the best strategy to achieve Islamic unity.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, met with representative of the Supreme Leader following his arrival to Iraq stressing that the high capabilities of Iran's World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought can be hired to create and promote relations between scholars as part of efforts to reach unified Islamic nation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He highlighted importance of meetings to foil dividing efforts by enemies who propagate Takfir (excommunication) and abuse in line with hostile media and arrogant powers.
 
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought referred to the recent changes in Iraq and their effect on the regional policies of the Islamic Republic and stressed," Intensification of some disagreements and sectarian rifts necessitates preventive measures against clashes.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari said that the visit is made in line with expansion of cooperation, fraternal ties and promotion of Islamic unity.
 
According to the cleric discussing the plans for renovation of the World Forum for reaching a union of Islamic countries is also on the agenda of the visit headed by Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari.
 
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought underlined efforts for mutual understanding via dialogue and close ties in highest political, cultural and religious level as strategies which contribute to relations between countries.
