Iranian top official condoles passing of Sheikh Ahmad al-Zein

Special aide to Iran’s parliament speaker has issued a message to express condolences with the Lebanese nation over the passing of top scholar Sheikh Ahmad al-Zein.


Hossein Amir Abdollahian, secretary of the international conference on Palestinian intifada, in his message expressed regret over demise of senior Sunni cleric from Lebanon, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He hailed the late head of Lebanon’s Association of Muslim Scholars for his anti-Zionist stance and his support for the resistance as the sole way for liberation of holy Quds.
 
“He was threatened for several times for his confrontation with the Zionist regime” said the Iranian official and referred to the late cleric as a loyal companion of Imam Khomeini (RA).
 
He highlighted the key role in confrontation with the Zionist regime and defending the Palestinian nation and regional stability.
 
Hossein Amirabdollahian extended condolences for the Lebanese nation, the Association of Muslim Scholars and the resistance movement Hezbollah.
 
Sheikh Ahmad al-Zein was head of Lebanon's Association of Muslim Scholars and former Sharia judge of Sidon who passed away on Tuesday.
