Cleric hails role of Sunni scholars throughout history of Islam

Prayer leader of the Sunni community in Sanandaj, Iran's Kurdistan Province highlighted the role of Muslim scholars throughout history of Islam and their endeavors to promote the holy religion.

Mamusta Faeq Rostami, representative of Kurdistan province in the Assembly of Experts, attended the webinar on commemoration of Sunni scholars held by the council of Sunni seminaries and Iran deputy of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought on Tuesday to relate on the contributions of the Sunni scholars through the history of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said," After the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), clerics have carried the responsibility to boost the unity and fraternity and also guide the people.
 
He referred to independence of the clerics from states and courts as they had already been in vow to serve the Almighty God.
 
Top Sunni cleric noted the religious scholars' endeavor to practice their theoretical knowledge and the role they have played in all religious, political, economic, cultural and social issues.
 
He referred to the prominent scholars in Iran and lauded their contributions to the country and Iranian nation.
 
Mamusta Faeq Rostami made the comments in his remarks at the webinar on Iranian Sunni scholars jointly held by the council of Sunni seminaries and Iran deputy of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought on Tuesday February 23.
