UN nuclear watchdog Grossi arrives in Tehran

The United Nations watchdog heal Rafael Grossi arrived in Tehran late Saturday to meet with top nuclear and diplomatic officials.

Grossi is visiting the Iranian capital to discuss the latest nuclear activities of the Islamic Republic and reduction of its JCPOA commitments, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Grossi was received in Tehran by Iran's ambassador to the IAEA, Kazem Gharibabadi, and Iran Atomic Energy Organisation official Behrouz Kamalvandi, Gharibabadi tweeted Saturday evening.

The UN nuclear watchdog has met with director of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) as the two sides have opened talks for coordination in line with Iran's Law on Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions and Protect the Interests of the Iranian Nation.

On Friday, Grossi tweeted he would "meet with senior Iranian officials to find a mutually agreeable solution, compatible with Iranian law, so that the @iaeaorg can continue essential verification activities in Iran".
 
Rafael Grossi will also meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif making the second of his visits to the Islamic Republic in the past six months.
