Iranian academics condemn Macron over supporting Islamophobic campaigns

Abdolhossein Khosrowpanah, chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Muslim University Professors, has issued a message to slam the reprinting of sacrilegious cartoons disrespecting prophet of Islam calling on world Muslims to unite against sacrilege of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Iranian university professors in this message stressed necessity of theoretical and practical solidarity among world Muslims as a prerequisite to prevent insult against Islamic sanctities under the pretext of freedom.

The statement slammed world colonial powers for pursuit of Islamophobia and creation of terrorist groups like ISIS.

Iranian university professors in this message referred to the article 19 of the declaration of human rights which prevents freedom which goes against morality.

“The President of France should be asked how the questioning of the Holocaust is not an example of freedom of speech and is considered a crime, but insulting the Holy Prophet is freedom of speech?!!!” wrote part of the message.

It called on world Muslim states to unite on the way towards the new Islamic civilization and do not turn into a slave for the colonial powers.
The statement highlighted importance of educating the younger Muslim generation in order to provide them with Islamic thoughts.

The statement by Iranian board of university professors was issued following the reprinting of Charlie Hebdo and French President’s support for that.

Millions of Muslims across the globe have condemned the move as some Muslim countries have boycotted French-produced goods.
