Iranian religious minorities condemn Macron’s support for Islamophobia

Leaders of religious minorities in Iran have held a meeting to condemn the support of French President Emmanueld Macron for sacrilegious cartoon of Prophet Mohammad under the pretext of Freedom of expression.

Iran’s Christian, Jewsih and Zoaroastrian leaders have held a meeting on Friday to slam the disrespect of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) by French President and his support for the reprinting of sacrilegious cartoon by Charlie Hebdo, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Mar Narsai Benjamin, bishop of Iran’s Assyrian church, in this meeting stressed that insulting others is not freedom and sai,” Freedom must not aim to disrespect others”warning that such campaigns will eventually lead to chaos and bloodshed.
 
He quoted the holy Bible as “Threat others as you wish others treat you” in an address to the French President Emmanueld Macron.
 
Rabbi Younes Hamami Lalehzar, leader of the Jewish community in Iran said,” Every person is considered as a valuable creature and insulting an ordinary person is rejected in our religion let alone the leader of a religion.”
 
He stressed,” Insulting a person has no logic but shows the weakness.”
 
Iranian leader of Jewish community noted that freedom has its own boundaries and that it should not harm other people.
 
Leaders of other religious minorities in this meeting condemned any act of blasphemy and hailed the freedom of their communities in Iran stressing that the country should be set as a role model for other countries.
 
Leader of Iranian religious minorities held the meeting to reject the recent remarks by French President justifying the reprinting of sacrilegious cartoons against Prophet Mohammad as freedom of expression.
