Late Ayatollah Taskhiri, claimant of Islamic proximity

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari lauded Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri for the late cleric's endeavors to settle the disagreements between Islamic denominations, religious and political movements.

Top Iranian scholar, Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari, attended the international meeting on the high character and thoughts of the former secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri held on the eve of 40th day after the demise of "claimant of Islamic proximity", reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Secretary General of major Islamic unity center in Iran in this meeting which was held at the Organization of Culture and Islamic Relations said," Ayatollah Taskhiri prevented any ethnical prejudices which might undermine unity and proximity among Muslims and endeavored for prevalence of justice."
 
The cleric referred to the efforts by the late advisor of Supreme Leader for promoting Islamic unity in hundreds of conferences and summits held on the topic and also discussing the disagreements between Shia and Sunni Muslims.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari referred to Ayatollah Taskhiri as "devotee scholar" and "expressive voice of Islam" as called by the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and praised the late proximity figure for over five decades of efforts to promote Islamic unity.
 
Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, former secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought passed away due to heart disease on August 18, aged 76.
