“Qur’an burning with no retaliation by Muslims”, Egyptian author

Why should they burn Qur’an while Muslims have not burnt even a leaf from their holy book? Muslims believe their holy book should be respected even if it contains only one original verse.


Elham Shaheen, prominent Egyptian author has issued a note relating on different aspects of reprinting the sacrilegious cartoons of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and calls for burning the holy book of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
“Why should some people burn Qur’an while Muslims have not burnt even a leaf from their holy book? Muslims believe their holy book should be respected even if it contains only one original verse” demanded the author in the introduction to her writing.
 
She also stressed,” Even if Muslims do not believe in their prophets, no Muslim has ever disrespected the prophets they believe in with sacrilegious cartoons, films or distorted history” and added,” This is because of Muslims’ respect for their religious beliefs.
 
Assistant secretary general for female preacher affairs wrote,” To burn Qur’an in a way to provoke Muslims and arousing religious feelings of people is ideological aggression and perpetrators of that will see nothing but bad repercussions.”
 
“Beware of the Almighty’s punishment for your sacrilege of his book because God will take care of his holy book.”
 
Egyptian author alluded to holy Bible calling on the believers for reconciliation and kindness with the enemies.
 
“As Muslims we cannot desecrate any book and avoid disrespecting the prophet believed by any nation” wrote Elham Shahin reiterated,” This is a principle in Islam that Muslims should respect the precedent prophets and their books.
 
She also noted that the respect for other prophets and holy books by Muslims is away from any claims of freedom of expression or human rights or pretending to support the minority groups.
 
According to the Egyptian thinker, Muslims can stage peaceful rallies to introduce the true character of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) or publication of prayers by the prophet of Islam in social networks.
 
Elham Shahin issued the note following the Qur’an burning by far-right group in Sweden and reprinting of disrespecting cartoon by French daily Charlie Hebdo.
