New Zealand Muslims offer sympathy over Ayatollah Taskhiri demise

Muslim community in New Zealand has issued a condolence message following the passing of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri hailing the advisor of Supreme Leader as a tireless scholar struggling in path of Almighty God.

Imam Reza (AS) Mosque and the Muslim community in New Zealand have released a message over the recent demise of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, former secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and offered condolences to the bereaved family and World Assembly of Ahlul Bayt (AS), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Top Shia cleric Ayatollah Taskhiri had contributed over five decades of his life to promoting Islamic teachings, Qur'an exegesis and Islamic solidarity.
 
He was the advisor of Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs and former secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
 
Late Ayatollah Taskhiri had also served in top political positions among them member of the Assembly of Experts.
 
The cleric, aged 76, passed away due to heart disease in a hospital in Tehran on Tuesday and his body was laid to rest in the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) in the Iranian city of Qom.
