Int’l webinar marks Pakistani figure Aref al-Hosseini
Pakistan has held international webinar to commemorate the 32nd martyrddom anniversary of renowned unity figure and scholar, late Allameh Aref Hossein al-Hosseini on Wednesday.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, delivering speech in the 32nd martyrdom anniversary of top Pakistani scholar, Islamic unity activist and religious leader and called him a defender of jurisprudence, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Iranian cleric in this online speech referred to biography of the leading Pakistani Shia figure and the contributions he made for his community.
He called late Allameh Aref Hosseini as the “eloquent language of the revolution in the subcontinent” and a true follower in the path of jurisprudence.
According to Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari, a descendent of the fourth Shia Imam, Imam Sajjad (AS), Seyyed Aref Hosseini made acquintance with the late founder of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini and Introduced the late leader as the guardian ruler of Muslims and the leader of Muslim world for Pakistan.
A student to prominent Iranian jurisprudents and scholars Allameh Aref Hosseini was hailed by Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari as a person who took effective steps to counter the governments’ discrimination against Muslims and initiating fundamental, cultural and political transformation in the structure of Pakistani society at that time.
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought also related on the high moral qualities of Martyr Aref al-Hosseini including his spirit of worship, adherence to devotional and religious programs and also his humbleness as he behaved friendly with everyone both before and after his election as the leader of Shia community in Pakistan.
The founder of several educational centers, mosques and clinical ceners in Pakistan, Seyyed Aref al-Hosseini had social concerns as he travled to many deprived areas to solve the economic and cultural problems of the afflicted people.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari said,” Martyr Aref Hosseini did not neglect protection of religion for a movement in his political position as he emphasized Shia-Sunni unity as number one issue” and added,” At a time when Muslims were focused disagreement divisive and troublesome issues he called for unity of all Muslims this was the idea that most of the great scholars especially late Qazi Hussein Ahmad and Imam Khomeini emphasized.”
“When Imam khomeini considered Shia and Sunni unity as obligatory Aref al Husseini said it is a religious order and must be done” said the Iranian cleric and quoted the late Pakistani figue in one of his last speeches Our movement is superior to sectarianism we say that Shia and Sunni should recognize each other in Pakistan and be kind to each other far from narrow mindedness.
Secretary General of Iran’s World Forum for Prximity of Islamic Schools of Thought made the remarks in an online event held by Pakistan to mark the 32nd martyrdom anniversary of Allameh Aref Hosseini.
