“Imam Khomeini, reviver of religion in modern world”, ex-ambassador Iran’s former ambassador hailed the late founder of Islamic Revolution as a reviver of religion in contemporary world and a mediator in transition from traditions to modernity. Kazem Jalali, Iran’s former ambassador to Moscow attended an international webinar held on the 31st passing anniversary of Imam Khomeini (RA) discussing the high character and thoughts of the late leader who revived religion in modern world, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA). He counted two major blocs before victory of Islamic Revolution, the capitalist bloc which found religion as a relation between man and his god and the Marxist bloc which found religion as “opium of the people”, none of which could count a revolution based on religion. According to the former diplomat Imam Khomeini opposed and threatened foundations of both blocs and practically showed that religious contexts could be used for the greatest changes and revolutions. “Imam Khomeini (RA) believed that basically religion should be involved in governing of a country though in its form it should align with the latest achievements” he said. Iran’s Former ambassador to Moscow made the comments in an international webinar held on 31st passing anniversary of Imam Khomeini as the new coronavirus outbreak has imposed restrictions on any gathering or public meetings.
