A number of NGOs in Southeast Asia have issued a message on the eve of the International Quds Day to voice solidarity with the Palestinian people and called on the international bodies to take practical measures in line with recognition of the Palestinian people’s sovereignty on their ancestral land, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Signatories of the statement called on world people to stand firm against the ideology of Zionism and the illegal state of Israel.

The statement reads,” Today is a special day of unity and for a clarion show of global solidarity against a state that was created 72 years ago to occupy a sovereign nation by the use of brutal force and barbaric crimes against humanity against defenseless Palestinians.”

It also condemned the complicity of the western imperialist powers, naming UK and US, under the influence of the Zionist movement giving birth to terrorist and apartheid state which ever since has been prosecuting the Palestinians with impunity.

Elites signing the statement censured the Israeli siege of al-Quds in over half a century calling that an assault not on Palestine but on world peace and the UN universal declaration of Human Rights.

“We declare that the struggle to free Al Quds is a struggle for justice, dignity and independence. All Islamic nations should shoulder the duty to achieve the liberation of Al Quds” read another part of the statement.

It also rebuked the so-called deal of century as proposed by the US President Donald Trump as “totally skewed in favor of Israel” and added,” Submitting completely to and recognizing the Israeli occupation on Palestine can never be the basis for a viable and just deal.”

The statement expressed regret over appeasement by some of the Persian Gulf states in their undeclared normalization of ties with Tel Aviv regime and therefore shunting aside the decades of suffering of the Palestinians.

It stressed al-Quds as the eternal capital of Palestinians and that the holy mosque is out of bound to religious rituals other than Islam.

Top thinkers from southeast Asian countries signing the statement for return of the lands and homes illegally confiscated by Israeli settlers to their rightful owners and the right of return of Palestinian refugees as provided under the UN Resolution 194.

It urged the international multilateral agencies to intervene to stop the US-backed annexation plan of the West Bank by the Zionist regime.

The statement was signed by number of thinkers from Malaysia, Philippine, Indonesia and Thailand among many more countries in southeast Asia.
