Islamic Human Rights Commission to mark al-Quds Day online

18 May 2020 - 12:57

London-based Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) has scheduled to commemorate International al-Quds Day online for the first time in history of the event due to the protective measures banning conventions due to the new coronavirus outbreak.

As the outbreak of the new coronavirus infection has forced cancellation of the annual marches and rallies across the globe, Islamic Human Rights Commission has announced its schedule to mark the International al-Quds Day to stress that the restrictions does not mean forgetting the Palestinians at this important time of the Islamic year, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

International al-Quds Day is marked on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan at the inspiration of late Imam Khomeini (RA).

Every year millions of people stage rallies in the streets across the globe on the last Friday of Ramadan to voice their support for Palestinians and urge for end of the Zionist regime’s occupation of the Palestinian lands.

The presentations in this first online Quds Day rally will include presentations reminding the people of Palestinian plight.

The US-backed annexation plans by the Zionist regime and Israel’s weaponization of COVID-19 preventing entry of much needed medications for the pandemic infection into Palestine and also passage of the Palestinians across checkpoints to access health care centers in Israel have amplified the sufferings of the Palestinians all of which should be highlighted in this year’s commemoration of the International al-Quds Day.

Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC), Ahlul Bayt Islamic Mission and Jewish Network for Palestine are among the original organizations supporting the call.
