“Islamic Unity Conference institutionalizes al-Aqsa Mosque in world”, cleric

Senior Iranian Sunni cleric from the northern province of Golestan stressed the issue of al-Aqsa Mosque and said proposing the holy mosque as the theme for 33rd Islamic Unity Conference will institutionalize that across the globe.


Akhoond Abdulrazaq Rahbar, prayer leader of the Sunni community in Aqqala, Golestan Province, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) hailed the theme proposed for 33rd Islamic Unity Conference as al-Quds was the first praying direction for Muslims.
 
He said,” Since al-Aqsa Mosque was the first Qibla (praying direction for Muslims), the more we value al-Aqsa Mosque, the more value we maintain for our Islamic assets including the Prophet of Islam.”
 
The cleric added,” A key feature for all rounds of Islamic Unity Conference has been prioritizing the issue of oppressed Palestinian nation and al-Quds.”
 
Iranian Sunni scholar hailed the endeavors of Ayatollah Araki, secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought for boosting proximity among Islamic denominations and added,” As elites and religious figures from across the globe attend the annual Islamic Unity Conference, to discuss and stress issue of al-Aqsa will institutionalize that in the world leading to more efforts for freedom of the holy mosque.”
 
Prayer leader of Aqqala noted that the more Shia and Sunni communities highlight their unity, al-Quds issue and objectives of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), the more success they will achieve.”
 
Akhoond Abdulrazaq Rahbar made the comments on the eve of the 33rd Islamic Unity Conference which is annually held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought. This upcoming event which is going to be held on November 14-16 will discuss “Islamic Unity Conference and Defense of al-Quds.”
