“Arba’een can deepen fraternal ties”, Iranian MP

16 Oct 2019 - 16:01

The great march of Arba’een can deepen the fraternal ties and good neighborliness.

Nabi Hezar Jaribi, Iranian MP representing northern Province of Golestan in Parliament, referred to the multi-million Muslims heading for the holy city of Karbala on the eve of Arba’een ceremonies lauding the occasion as opportunity capable of deepening fraternity among Muslims from different countries, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

“The great march of Arba’een can deepen the fraternal ties and good neighborliness between Iranian and Iraqi nation” he said and added,” This is while Iraqi people have already proved their capacities to foil threats and intrigues to divide the two neighboring countries.”

Iranian MP lauded the hospitality of Iraqi people during the mourning ceremonies of Muharram and Safar when the country is host to millions of Muslims from across the globe to mark the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

He also praised the Iranian nation for showing their solidarity and volunteer to hold the Arba’een ceremonies.

Parliamentary representative of Gorgan rebuked the western media for boycotting the news coverage of Arba’een ceremonies as their policies demand other trivial issues to be highlighted and such a massive congregation to be ignored.

Arba’een is the 40th day after martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who rose against the tyrant ruler of his time, Yazid ibn Muawiyah and was martyred along with 72 of his household members and companions in the Battle of Karbala back in 632 AH.

Millions of Muslims from across the globe head for the Iraqi holy city of Karbala where the shrine of the third Shia Imam is located, many of them marching the long path to Karbala as a sign of loyalty and respect for Imam Hussein (AS).
