Top Iranian cleric explains:

“Halal”, potential ground for Islamic unity

“Halal” is one of the most inclusive grounds with utmost capacity to expand Islamic unity and the nortion, as it is prefixed with “Islamic”, would bring credit for the Muslim nation.

Ayatollah Ahmad Moballeghi, member of Parliament’s Assembly of Experts, met with Ihsan Ovut chairman of the Standard and Metrology Institute for the Islamic Countries (SMIIC) stressing “Halal” as the high-capacity and inclusive standard for boosting Islamic unity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA)
 
He stressed,” This does not translate to calling denominations to ignore their religious principles but as the commonalities of Muslims exceed their disagreements, Halal standards should be reviewed based on their common beliefs.”
 
Iranian cleric noted,” If the disagreements among Islamic denominations are not maintained in compiling SMIIC laws and prejudiced regulations are convened in an ambiance of ignorance for a common Islamic brand, then Islamic solidarity will never materialize.”
 
Head of the research center at Iran’s Parliament warned,” Naturally that will be a loss for an active flow of Halal as an Islamic brand.
 
“A religious brand should not be weakened due to diversity of denominations” noted the prominent cleric as the visiting chairman Ihsan Ovut stressed importance of solidarity of Muslims based on Halal and maintaining the common views in convening the regulations by SMIIC.
