Imam Ali (AS) int’l conference kicks off in New Delhi

Attended by religious experts and intellectuals from across the globe, Imam Ali (AS) international conference has kicked off in the Indian capital to discuss the lifestyle and ruling of the first Shia Imam.
International conference on the first Shia Imam has kicked off in New Delhi to gather Muslim intellectuals across the globe on the eve of the Qadir Eid marking the imamate of Imam Ali (AS), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought from Iran special guest to the event in his speech on the first day of the conference referred to the five features of Imam Ali (AS) rule.
 
He referred to popularity of Imam Ali (AS) rule as the first feature different from other rulers achieving power through sword and bullying.
 

Iranian cleric noted voluntary alliance of the people and prevalence of justice as the second and third features of the then Islamic nation under Imam Ali (AS) government.
 
The international conference on Imam Ali (AS) was also attended by representative of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine and Iran’s ambassador as well as former governor of New Delhi as other participants to the gathering.
 
Giving literature awards and unveiling the new book on Imam Ali (AS) were other parts on the first day of the conference.
The program is commemorating the 1400th anniversary of the Imam’s martyrdom scheduled in Delhi’s India Islamic Cultural Centre on August 17-19.

The program is jointly held by Safinat-ul-Huda Islamic Institute, Religious Minorities Commission of New Delhi and also the Institute of Islamic & Arab Studies.
