Syria’s official news agency SANA reported that the terror attack occurred on Sunday, killing a man and a young girl and wounding three women.

It added that the women sustained critical injuries.
The report also said that incident occurred at an area on the southwestern suburbs of Damascus.

Also on Sunday, a sabotage attack led to the derailment of a train carrying phosphate in the central province of Homs, SANA said in a separate report, adding that flames broke out in the locomotive as a result of the attack.

It also said that train crew received varying wounds.

According to a statement by the ministry of transport, terrorists had managed to sneak into the railway area between al-Fajwa and al-Bassira towns and planted an explosive device on the tracks, through which the train was heading to phosphate mines in Khnefees area, located in the eastern parts of Homs.

Syrian government forces have been engaged in clashes with foreign-backed Takfiri militants in the country’s northern province of Idlib to avenge troop casualties during a recent ambush by the extremists.

Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since March 2011. The Syrian government says the Israeli regime and its Western and regional allies are aiding the Takfiri terrorist groups that are wreaking havoc in the country.

The government forces have already managed to undo militant gains across the country and bring back almost all of Syrian soil under government control.
