Jamshid Jafarpour, head of the cultural committee in Iran’s Parliament has proposed President Rouhani to praise the commander leading operation downing US spy drone on Thursday with the Medal of Bravery, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He lauded Iran’s IRGC forces for their efforts in line with protecting the country’s aerial security in this operation and stressed,” Downing of the advanced spying drone belonging to the United States is proof for determination of the Islamic Republic to confront enemies who spare no effort to undermine Iran security and stability.”

The MP referred to necessity of maintaining national unity against enemies and added,” I suggest that the commander leading the counterintelligence operation to be granted Medal of Bravery and Honor to praise the efforts of our military forces in protecting our borders.”

He also stressed,” In this proposal the unanimity of different Iranian principles for arraying against enemies and protecting our national honor should be reminded to all countries.”

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) downed an intruding US drone in the country’s territorial water in southern Hormuzgan Province on Thursday morning to draw mixed reaction across the globe.

Later on Friday Iran displayed parts of the doomed drone rejecting claims by the US that the drone was flying over the international waters.

This is while a senior Iranian military commander announced along with the US drone, there was also an American P-8 plane with 35 people on board which Iran refrained from shooting it down.
