Top Iranian cleric met with senior Iraqi jurisprudent calling Islamic proximity as antidote for Takfir (excommunication) which is theoretically and practically pursued in Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari, president of Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations (UID) met with Ayatollah Bashir Najafi, prominent Iraqi Shia jurisprudent calling Islamic proximity as antidote for Takfiri ideology, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Ayatollah Bashir Najafi in this meeting said the style of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to promote Islam can be set an effective example for all research centers and missionaries to call Muslims to fraternity and solidarity.
 
The Iranian scholar in this meeting detailed the activities of Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations and highlighted the international advancements made by the Iranian academy.
 
He said,” University of Islamic Denominations is receiving global attention as confrontation with Takfir and extremism necessitates following the example of UID.”
 
The cleric called Islamic proximity as antidote for Takfiri ideology a solution which is practically pursued at UID.
 
Courses at the UID are held in classes with mixed students from Shia and Sunni denominations to set a practical example of coexistence among Islamic schools of thought in an academic ambiance.
