Iranian MP calls the fasting month of Ramadan as the time for blessings, affection and forgiveness among Muslims highlighting the role of mosques as hub to expand culture of unity.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Ahmad Salek, member of the cultural committee at Iran’s parliament in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) related on the month of Ramadan as a special occasion in the world of Islam and called that a time to ponder on depth of Qur’an and also contribute for the underprivileged Muslims.

 
He highlighted mosques as the base for expanding the culture of solidarity and said;” Islamic unity plays a vital role in promoting true Islam and also for confronting oppressors and tyrants in all countries.”
 
The cleric underscored the importance of solidarity in the world of Islam amid struggles of the oppressors to divide different layers in Muslim world.
 
He added,” Maintaining the situation of the poor can partially foil the efforts of enemies to disperse Muslims.”
 
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Muslim lunar calendar when Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from dusk to dawn. It is also a time for prayers, reciting and pondering in the deep Qur’anic teachings.
