University professor in Iran’s Golestan Province counted objectives of the major academy of religions stressing endeavors of the Shia scholars to study Sunni references as step in line with expanding Islamic unity in the country.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Jalal Araqi, manager of the University of Islamic Denominations in Iran’s northern province of Golestan in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) counted academic expansion of Iran’s views on Islamic solidarity among other objectives of the university and hailed struggles by Shia scholars to learn Sunni denomination views.
 
He noted enrichment of the Islamic studies and brining the followers of different Islamic denominations is an objective pursued by University of Islamic Denominations.
 
The cleric also said,” To train adept scholars on Islamic teachings including comparative religion for domestic and international centers, is a serious pursuit of this academy.”
 
According to Hujjat-ul-Islam Araqi to transcend the academic and cultural level for the younger generation in Iran’s northern provinces.
 
The cleric also highlighted employment of professors from different Islamic denominations as an advantage of the University of Islamic Denominations to train experts for domestic and international Islamic centers.
